Hi friends, I'm back after a very long time. I'll explain clearly why I need this. I want to send bulk sms to different contacts and also read their replies. I don't want any additional text attached to my SMS. I have a Nokia 3310 and connect it using a serial cable. I want a java application to send sms thro' my mobile directly rather than connecting to a website.

Just the same as the oxygen Activex control in VB, if someone has come across it.

Thank You in Advance.

Hello,
According to the information you have given, your requirement is to send a sms from your desktop Java application using a mobile phone right? With that assumption, I guess what you can do is some thing like, connect to the phone over the serial port and write data to A Java ME application on the phone(which you wrote), on receiving the data, you can program the Java ME application to automatically send SMSs using the WMA. I am not quite sure whether this works, but just wanted to share some thought. Hope this helps. Regards....

Hi Netharam ram.

there is a driver for sending sms s from system to mobile. when you install this driver it provides few commands to send sms s to mobile from the command windw. You can provide a user interface (stand alone or we ) to accept the input(mobile number ,message to send) and issue the commands through your javaclass.

But there is a - point in this approach. I know that this driver is for linux platform. i am not sure weather you can find the driver for windows or what ever platform you require.
Check out this link where you can find downloads and information how to use it.(you need a supported mobile handset and datacable to connect it to system. you can also use infrared communication instead of data cable check the site for more info ).
