How to restrict a application been illegally copied?

Hi, i want to sell a mobile application through a website. Up to my knowledge, once bought/downloaded a buyer can transfer the application over a medium like bluetooth to another device and distribute illegally. Is there a way to stop this? If i used symbian c++ i can get the unique ID of the phone and put a restriction. Since Java ME doesn't support that i am searching for an alternative solution, thanks.

I don't exactly how you do this, but I think certified MIDlets are a possible way.

A certified MIDlet can be only executed if the corresponding set of certificates is installed on the device.

Take a look at http://www.javaverified.com/docs/Technical-Topics-01-2.pdf

Hi,
Well this is not what I exactly wanted, but thanks a lot for the time you spent on replying. My requirement is that, I want to have a MIDlet on the web and to download it from the web site the user has to pay. Now when a user downloads the MIDlet, that person can easily RE-distribute the jar locally so that the other people doesn't have to pay. I want to stop this. A bit of googling pointed me to a concept called Digital Rights Management (DRM). I have to do some more research on this. But it seems Nokia is the only one supporting this at the moment.
Does any one know a better solution or an alternative solution for this requirement ? regards
