Has anyone used Trusted 3rd Party certificates (Verisign or Thawte) for signing a production J2ME application?

I know operators sometimes remove and install root certificates. I am interested in knowing the effects of this practice on anyone who has deployed a generally available application.

In addition, I have not found any statistics on certificate acceptance. Verisign changes $499 and Thawte $200 for identical products. Does anyone know if the $300 Verisign premium yields anything more than Thawte?

Thanks.

Thawte is owned by Verisign, I'd go for the cheaper one, same service.

Thanks. Although I am curious how Verisign is able to maintain its price point for its self-branded services in comparison to its own Thawte. Sans supperior service or root-cert prevalence Thawte sounds like best choice.

I was able to find this link on Cigular's site.
