How to write a file to the root directory??

Hi
I have a code which takes the file(image) from the root system converts into bytes does some processing on it and create a new image from the bytes.
My problem is i have to store the new image in the root replacing the existing file.How can i do it??do anyone have code for it??

Hi,
Since my problem is connected to what is being discussed i put it here..

Can our Java application access a file (an image file stored by the native camera software) that was stored by another native software fr our use...

How can this be done..
