Hello Friends

Im a bit disappointed. I cant upload my midlets to the phone, I dont want to pay the WAP service any more !!! . My phone (AIRAM TSM340) has an IRDA port which let me download and upload pics or *.amr files from PC but nothing else, any other file type causes a popup error. In addition, I suspect my phone suports MIDP 1.0 (vendor didnt give me that info). In other hand, Ive installed Apache Server on my PC in order to connect my Phone with it via Infrared communication !!!, is this possible to be accomplished with J2ME code ? with purpose to exchange jar and jad files between phone and PC. I am not sure if MIDP 1.0 supports infrared communication although my phone can exchange pics with IRDA (how?). In brief, Is possible to make J2ME code for MIDP 1.0 to connect phone with localhost:\8080 port using IRDA connection ?.
Friends, turn the light on in this dark room please.

Love You All.

"joe coolman",

I hope that's your real name, because, while the JavaRanch isn't a real uptight place, we do require people to use real names (http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp).

It's hard to answer your question because I'm not familiar with that device. Some devices support tcp/ip over IrDA and/or Bluetooth. On mine, you'd configure them as an alternate "modem" dial-up channel.

Another possibility might be to beam your app over via OBEX. I'm not sure if it will work for your device, since apparently it limits the types of files it will accept, but there may be some possibility there.
