i have a animated image which takes 150 x 150 pixels.

i have a midlet which takes animated image as welcome first screen for around 4 seconds and then jumps into my application main menu.

so i tested with one animated where the cartoon guy can move for my welcome screen.

it displays well, but then it isn't moving in the phone.

---

my phone support image/gif MIME types, but the image display statically.

how to fix it?

I havent seen any phones capable of displaying an animated gif.
If you take a look at the j2me spec it says the surely supported image format in all implementations is png.

If you want to display an animation on startup, use Canvas based Screens and code the way the images are to be displayed.
Still better is to take a gif animator for cldc from web....

Ok, thats great
But i am planning to write a Gif Animator, that can read the Frames out from a Gif Image and animate them on a Custom Component.
