I looked at one of my sdk's - yes it is possible.

There is a lot involved, may we have some addtional information ?

I simply need a midlet that starts html browser with a specified web page.
I don't want to create a browser myself.

Perhaps you misunderstood me. I would like to start an external application (browser) from midlet. And , I guess, it's not possible.

Do not dismmiss the possibility so fast. I downloaded several code development tools from several vendors, they vary somewhat - I was trying to get better information to work from. My suggestion is to look through the open source alliance for a vendor and download the development kit for an actual device manufacturer.

may be you are looking for platformRequest(String URL) of MIDlet class
