Hi Nils
If the Rules Roundup(RR) is the only test you've done to gauge where you are in terms of being ready for the SCJP, I would say no. The RR is quite straight forward once you stop watching the cows and concentrate on the questions
You may want to try a few more exams to see what areas you are strong/weak in
http://www.javaranch.com/maha/_Mock_Exams/_mock_exams.html
Try Marcus Greene's as well as they are more of an indicator to see what level you are at
there are loads more mocks out there these days

Thanks Jim,
well I took another Test, here: http://www.go4java.20m.com/mock1.htm
I scored 50% on it, what I want to know is how does it compare to the real thing?
cheers
Nils

Like someone mentioned if round-up is the only test you have tried I would think you are not ready. A test engine such as jqplus yeilding those kind of marks would suggest you are ready. When I passed my certification exam I was hitting high 90's (with the odd 100) on round up and high 70's to mid 80's with jqplus.

Cheers
Dave

Roundup is too easy.
And 50% on the second mock that you did tells you that
u r not ready.
Study more.. But if you are only looking for passing
it might happen. 50 50... half anf half.
i say study more!!!

The Rules Roundup game is only really an introduction to the fundamentals. If you want to use it as a benchmark, make sure that you are getting at least 95% every time you play it. At that point you will be in a position to start studying for the SCJP exam.
The Rules Roundup game is not meant to be a preparation for the SCJP exam.

Also Nils
Check the certification results area and see the 000s of ways other people have studied and what they got on mock exams etc also for a narrower focus to benchmark the various mocks with the real thing try this site

All the best - Jim
