Hi,
I've been looking for a threads CLEAR block diagram(the different states a thread can be and its transitions) other than the block diagrams in RHE's book, but i didn't find a good one.

Could anybody tell me where I can look for ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Angel,
I am giving u a url where u can find a block diagram which I hope will give u a good understanding as it explains with all diff thread states. The url is : http://htf-curricula.mit.edu/~one00/Lectures/Lecture33/Lecture33.html
Regarding RH book diagram , do refer to the errata page as there are some corrections for the diagrams also.

Hi,
Regardless the block diagram, does anybody know if there's been a discussion in this forum about the "monitor" processing of threads? (the ways a thread control the lock variable of an object, etc.)
Many thanks.

I'm moving this to "Threads", where the chart info will be particularly useful. As for Angel's question - try using the "search" facility to look for discussions using "monitor" and "thread". Good luck...

Thanks Usha Kasi,
I have added the URL to a Resources page at "An Excellent article on Daemon threads"
