Does anyone know where to get information on the individual threads listed below.
Thread[Signal dispatcher,5,system]
Thread[Reference Handler,10,system]
Thread[Finalizer,8,system]
Thread[main,5,main]
Thread[SymcJIT-LazyCompilation-0,1,main]
Thread[SymcJIT-LazyCompilation-PA,10,main]
They are the threads that are running when I am running an application through JBuilder. I have already looked at the java.sun site with no joy.

May be these are the 'system threads' which are run by the VM.
By the way, your name does not comply with Javaranch official naming policy. Please Read the JavaRanch naming policy for more details.

Well, what do you actually need to know?
The main thread is the thread executing your application code. The others are managing the JRE's code... one manages signals, another calls object finalizers, 2 are part of Symantec's Just-In-Time compiler (which compiles some code to native for perfomance), etc...
My advice would be *leave them alone*. They're all there for a reason. You won't find info on Sun's site because these threads differ depending on what JVM you use.
