a Daemon process is a process that runs in the background continously. Well, A daemon thread is not much different... A daemon thread is a thread that runs in the background, and it's main purpose is to serve some other thread say thread X. So if the thread X exits(dies), there is no purpose of the daemon thread in continiung , and so trhe daemon thread dies too.So it's life is dependent on the thread X that created it.A daemon thread is created by
setDaemon(true) method.
