Hi all,
Threads are managed in pre-emptive scheduling or time-sliced sheduling depending on the platform or mainly on operating
systems. Can you tell me whether the following O/S in general
follows which one of these two?
1. Windows 95/98
2. Windows 2000 Server
3. Unix (Like Sun Solaris)
4. Mac OS
5. Novell Netware

hello,
As of JDK1.0,the Java VM on Win32 (includes windows 95/98/NT/2000)uses time slicing while the java VM on solaris does not.

Thanks.

If only it were correct. Whether the Solaris JVM uses time-slicing or not depends on whether you've got the green threads JVM or not.
