Hi All, Can anybody please advise me which book should I go for Concurrent Programming in Java by Doug Lea or Taming Java Threads by Alan Hollub. Or is it enough to just read Java Thread Programming by Paul Hyde Regards sanj
For what it's worth, I haven't read any of these books, but I have read articles from Hollub's hand and he definitely knows what he's talking about. - Peter
Sanj, I am reading Doug Lea's book and all I can say its really a fantastic book. He gives a very detailed explanation about threading and various practical issues. There is a lot of stress on different patterns which might be useful. But please note that you need spend considerable time on it and have some patience coz the discussions are in-depth. On the whole I'd say if you want to learn some prety serious stuff on threading then go for it.
