Just an idea: What about a forum for general mathematics/physics inquiries? For something like calculating the result of two obliquely colliding shapes.

Just thought I'd through that out there... There are alot of pretty smart fellas around here that could work through some of pretty interesting questions.

May be 'Programming Diversions' forum qualifies for your suggestion.

As a frequent user, the number of forums I feel are too high(i really appreciated the merging of struts, other frameworks in to a single one recently). So, I would suggest no for this request.

I'm inclined to think that Programming Diversions is a close enough match for topics like this. If there were a lot of posts in this category I suppose we might consider a forum like "Scientific Computing". But as it is, there are very few posts in this category, and very few in Programming Diversions overall, so I don't see the need for a new forum.
