hi all..i know what in to add in the classpath . But am in windows 98 with jdk1.2.2.
i need to define system variables called classpath & couple of others. I am in windows 98. I went to start-> run typed sysedit and got the system configuration editor. In that i gave the following in the autoexec.bat file.
PATH=%PATH% (this was already there)
SET CLASSPATH=D:\JDK1.2.2\BIN
SET JAVA_HOME=D:\tomcat
now when i restart my comp and give the following in the dod prompt:
set CLASSPATH or
CLASSPATH or
set JAVA_HOME
etc etc..i get the error...bad command or file name.

any enlightenment on this ???

sorry, but "sm j" is isn't quite what we consider a valid name; it falls in the category of "obviously truncated or abbreviated". Please check out our display name policy and modify your display name accordingly.
Thanks.

Go to dos prompt.
c:\>
then type "edit autoexec.bat"
in autoexec.bat give the PATH and CLASSPATH.
SET PATH = ....
SET CLASSPATH = ...
then close the file and exit from the dos prompt.
Start another dos prompt.
then continue.
