Parallelizing Loops for Multiprocessor Machines

You're gonna have to try harder than that, if you want people to help you.

Parallelizing loops is an art. Its an application level thing for the most part. It does not happen automatically.

Though my graduate school professor's thesis was about a parallelizing compiler. I don't think there are any parallelizing JVMs at the moment. I could probably make some nice $$$ If I built one

I hate recommending my own book -- mainly because there is no way I can come off as anything else but bias.

However, in the book, we devote a whole chapter on this very subject -- the manual parallelization of loops for multiprocessor machines.

I'm told your book is very good. Considering it's coming from an experienced, picky, cynical programmer I'd say it must be.

EDIT: That is to say the compliment is coming from one like that.

Henry is also an experienced, picky, cynical programmer. And I really liked his book, too. You should buy a copy!

I'll borrow the experienced, cynical, picky programmer's copy when he's done. What good are dad's if they can't lend you a book?
He baked a muffin that stole my car! And this tiny ad:
