Hello guys,

Does anyone know of free source thread pool , which can be configured using JMX.
I had a look at apache threadpool in commons but its a dormant project, unless I get my head around whole of code.

thanks,

There's also a generic pool implementation. Does that do what you need, or are you looking for thread-specifc functionality?

What JDK version are you on? I guess you're not able to use the thread pools in 1.5.

I often recommend the commons thread pool but moved to 1.5 before I ever really used it. If it exposes the configuration APIs you need it should be easy to build a JMX bean to call those APIs. What do you want to tune via JMX that isn't there?

The other thread pool that is often recommended is Doug Lea's Concurrency package. I spent some time with the JavaDoc and had no idea what to do with it. It was the basis for the stuff now in the library but I found those docs much easier to work with. Again, if it has the configurability you need, a JMX bean to call the configuration APIs should be straight forward.
