I have an applet which I wish to read and write to a text file on the local file system running Sun's AppletViewer. When I attemp to do this a security error occours. Several sources says that the applet security can be overcome by:
a) if the text file is in the directory of my Class Path.
b) If the directory/file is listed in the ACCESS CONTROL LIST in the ~hotjava/properties file.
I have tried lots of different filename combinations with no result. I no the load and save routines work as I have tested them in an application. Any ideas.
P.S. its my final project and all complete apart from this and I have only til the 25/5/99 to hand it in.
