Or can somebody tell me where i can find related info (documentation, links) ?

alberto,
A program I'm working on these days does this. It uses JavaScript and a library from netscape to do all this.
So the web page that loads your applet has to have JavaScript in it that will open a new window. From in your applet, you get this netscape JavaScript object and tell it that you want to activate the JavaScript function.
I'm at home now and the code is at work, so I cannot describe it better than this.
