I have a server which is connected to a database.I want to broadcast information to applet clients as soon as any info in database changes.A good example is http://www.livecharts.com/
I tried RMI but realised that this is client driven.
I am expecting 2000 concurrent hits and this will increase.
Any ideas how to go about.

If you can control all of the browswers that your applet runs on, and you have no firewall issues, you can probably do something like this. However, this is almost never the case. Chances are good that this will not be an option for you. Your applets will have to poll: "Is there any new info for me?"
