Hi,
I have a problem on Netscape Communicator 4.73. My applet tries to open a connection with a servlet. I use URLConnection class to do this. Its working fine in IE. But in netscape, the browser throws this exception :
netscape.security.AppletSecurityException: security.class from local disk trying to access url: http://localhost:8080/servlet/SomeServlet
Apparently it believes that the applet is trying to communicate with a servlet on a server other than the one from where the applet itself came. I used getCodeBase method to construct the URL. Still it gives me the above exception.
I looked at the settings of Netscape, but could not achieve anything. Surprisingly its working fine on IE5. Any suggestions?

Create a batch file that makes your classpath empty and then calls netscape.

Could you show the statment that you're using to construct the URLConnection? I'm afraid I don't think it's a CLASSPATH problem myself.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
