location of policy file

Hi everyone,
I tried to use the policytool, but i get a message that the policy file is not found. Could anyone help me in finding out the location of the policy file.

this is an application file which is present in policytool is present

I had the problem too. I am running on windows, so I don't know about other OSs, but I was saving the file with out the preceding '.'. You need to edit your policy and then save it as 'c:\windows\.java.policy'
hope that helps
