Back & Forward Buttons in Java

I have got some 1000 html pages arranged in numeric order eg. 1.htm, 2.htm ...... my boss wants me to put an applet with back and forward buttons.if the person is viewing 1.htm he should be able to view 2.htm on clicking the next button and viceversa. there's also a Jtree in another frame. a person can goto any page from that tree also.so, the next button should be able to change to the next page of the document shown in the frame by clicking the java tree.
please help.

Here is a little code sample to get you started. It is not complete! For example, it has no error checking for if the user is already at the first file and clicks "Back" or if they are already at the last file and clicks "Next". But hopefully it will be enough to give you the idea how to proceed.
