I have an applet that I want to center in the page with other stuff to the left. I tried putting the applet in the center cell of a three cell table, but the browser displays the items from the first cell below the applet rather than to the left. Below is the TABLE code:
<table width="100%">
<tr>
<td width="25%%" align="center">
<font color='blue'>See the directory version</font><br>
<input type="button" value="Show me!"
onClick="location.href='http://www'">
</td>
<td width="50%" align="center"></td>
<applet code="LoginApplet.class"
archive="LoginApplet.jar" width=310 height=100>
</applet>
</td>
<td width="25%"></td>
</tr>
</table>
It appears that applets don't work in tables, but I haven't found anything that says this. I also set hspace and it moved the applet to the right, but the stuff in the first cell still displays below the applet.
Has anyone done something like this?

Oops! My bad.
I had an extra </td> that closed the cell before I placed the applet. What relief. I was afraid that applets for some reason defied the normal rules of html!!
