Just wondering if anyone knows why this is happening?
Also, does anyone know of any resources that shows how to connect to a Access and a SQL Server database using a applet?
Thanks!

w reality,
You are getting the class not found errors because your browser has an old JVM... the only browser that supports Java 2 (Swing) fully is Netscape 6 ( I think...) For all other browsers you are stuck with Java ~1.1.8 AWT unless you use the Java 2 plugin provided freely by Sun ( at http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/index.html )...
As for connecting to an Access and SQL server database, check out the JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) API and the JDBC forum here on JavaRanch.
HTH,
