i had one programme with AWT and Swing ..but now if i m trying to use browser or appletviewer it gives security excepation and in programme i had used net..url is passed which fatches data from database..so i have to run that programme as an application so anybody can help me in this regards...

Hi Asyush,
Applets have security that doesn't let them read or write to any database, local files, etc. Your applet needs to request special priveleges from the Browser. The browser will probably just pass the query through to the user so that the user knows the applet is doing something to files, DB, etc.
The process is called signing your code. You need your applet to become trusted. There is a good paper online:
