Here is a scenario.May be interesting One
Suppose u have working program that has a Panel p1, with a BorderLayout that already has components in the North, South, East, West and Center positions. Now you add the following statement to the end of the method that creates the Panel.
p1.add(new Button("Hello Ranchers!");

The "Hello Ranchers!" button will be displayed in the center position. BorderLayout 101.
