hi, im new to the java programmer certificaton so i still dont understand how it works, i would really appreciate if someone could answer some questions or give me a couple of links to pages with the info.
well my doubts are
1) should i get certified at this moment or should i wait until the new version 1.4 of the jdk is released? i mean the current certification is still going to have some value or its going to continue being the same exam or how does this works?
2) is really worth it to get certified? i mean i recently graduated in computer science in my country (mexico) but its getting really hard to get a job in something related to java so i was thinking maybe with the certifification in my resume it would be easier to get one, so anyone thinks its easier to get a job if you are certified or its the same stuff?
3) well thats it i guess, im not sure if im missing something, im kinda lost about this certification thing, anyone that lived the same problem that could give me some help?, well if someone could help me a little bit i would really appreciate the information
sorry if this comment doesnt belong to this forum, im new to javaranch too!!
well thanks in advance

Since the SCJP exam is about language basics, and the language basics will not change with release 1.4, there is no reason to delay.
How valuable the cert is depends on where you are applying, but your comp sci degree will certainly be more valuable.
