Hi all!
I am currently a (intermediate) Powerbuilder programmer looking to do Java programmer certification for professional development. Anyone made this jump before? What kind of time should I look at putting into studying for the certification. Currently my java experience is novice.
Thank you for any help!

I'm PB developer.
Haven't taken test yet but scheduled for 3/8/02.
You should be well off if you understand PB.
Most of the PB concepts are applicable to Java.
you should plan on 2-3 months of preparation.

I was a 4D developer 3 years ago. 4D is a 4GL client/server environment similar to PowerBuilder. I had done that for about 6 years.
I'd say it took me about 6 months to get a decent basic foundation when I started programming in java. I'm only now studying for my certification as a SCJP though, mainly to help "fill in" gaps in my core knowlege. So far it's been a very worthwhile endeavor.
I plan on taking the test in about 2 months or so.
