The answer is false because an applet is not a subclass of the Frame class. So, an applet cannot have a menu-bar.

From Ricardo:

As what I know, pull-down menus are accessed via a menu bar, which can appear only on Frames.
So why is the above false?
I don't understand your answer, Ricardo.

It should be true. Only a Frame can accept a menu bar or a pull down menu. Unless, of course, you are talking about a JMenuBar!
