i just got an email from sun saying i'm given a free voucher to take the 1.4 beta exam no later than 05/17. looks like somebody(maybe quite a few) dropped his appointment and now they have extra vouchers.
not very familiar with 1.4, but will give it a try.

actually i registered twice around mid april, and this is the only email i got. it looks like the quota was met early in april.
