I hope that this question is not irrelevant, but what level of Java knowledge is sufficient before one should consider the purchase of a Java Certification study guide?
Thank you,
Jamie

Jamie,
In my opinion, it's never too early to get a Java Certification study guide - whether you're planning on getting certified any time in the near or distant future, or never.
I myself used Michael Ernest's Complete Java 2 Certification Guide, and keep it on the shelf as a handy reference.

I'm moving this to our Programmer Certification Study forum, because, well, that's what it's for.
