Your book, which is probably the one we refer to as "RHE" around here, is still good. It covers the 310-025 exam, which is still the one currently being offered. Sun is working on a new version of the exam that includes features from JDK 1.4 but that won't be rolled out for at least a few months (the beta just ended on May 24). Even for the new version, RHE is still a good resource although you'll need to find additional study materials for the JDK 1.4 specific topics. Good luck! Junilu
will it change on August? Can't say for sure but you may still have a chance of taking the current exam in August. At any rate, you can schedule a date to take the exam as far out as 6 weeks prior so you can try calling Prometric sometime mid-July to schedule to take the 310-025 in August.
I have finished the first 9 chapter of RHE book, and the chapter 10-13 are layout,event,component,painting,I/O. They are all topics of awt and IO. Somebody says the new version of scjp exam has no topics of awt,I/O.and it will change soon, during the summer. So,how should I do now? keep studying the ch10-13?I am afraid that I prepare for jdk1.2,and the exam I take will be a new version. How can I make sure the version of exam I take?

That's a tough question right now. No one seems to know exactly what timeline Sun has set for releasing the 1.4 exam. It's quite possible that, even after they release the 1.4 exam, you might be able to take the 1.2 exam for some time. That only seems to make sense for people in your position. Of course, I'd recommend studying AWT and I/O. Unless you plan to get your SCJP and then never touch Java again, you'll most likely need them at some point in your career. Corey
