Hi,
this is a second post of mine on this subject..
i did the Marcus Green exams, got 86%, 85% and 88% on them... i was told that scoring good on them is a good sign.. but i read what Marcus says about them being easier than the actual exam.. so am confused about that
if i pass Valentin's exam should i pass ?
also my worst point is GridBagLayout.. any good resources for explaining the exam related and important stuff.. cause it seems overwhelming

First of all, I think your scores are good enough to pass as they are. You should feel very confident going into the exam that you'll do well.
If you take Val's exam and pass, you'll pass the real exam.
I wouldn't worry much about GridBagLayout, either. It might appear on the exam, but in no more than 1 or 2 questions.

I think the Marcus Green exams are as hard as the real one... The actual score that I got in my SCJP was just a shade off my Marcus Green averages. With your scores you have a good chance of scoring well.
Best of luck.

For GridBag Layout read CoreJava 2 by Horstmann and Cornell. It covers Gridbag in detail

Reading tutorials for GridBagLayout for 6 hours
doesn't bring the same as that by experimenting
GridBagLayout for three hours. One can never
understand GridBagLayout until he put his fingers on the keyboard. Three-hour experiment
will give you all you need.

That's right. Out of 3 questions in AWT, I got 2 in GridBagLayout. That too conceptwise questions. So, you gotta understand the concept to get good marks.
