All,
I am planning to taking the SCJP exam this month through the potmetric center in Raleigh NC.
Will the exam be based on 1.3 or 1.4 version of java?
Do we get a Choice?
1.4 has dropped AWT and I/O objectives from the exam - what has replaced them?
Thx

First off, there is no 1.3 version of SCJP, but 1.2.
The new exam version (1.4) will be available in August, i.e. this month. The exam has not yet been released. Please check out http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/java/java_progj2se.html regularly for updates on the subject.
AWT and IO have been dropped. A new objective is assertions. Also, SCJP aspirants have to know a little more in depth about the Collections framework.
You can find the objectives for 1.4 at the following page: http://suned.sun.com/US/certification/java/java_exam_objectives.html#programmer1.4
Good luck
