I don't know why. Accessing JavaRanch Forum is extremely slow recently. I'm using broadband. I would like to find out whether this is JavaRanch server problem or mine.

The JavaRanch server was upgraded just over a week ago. I'd noticed that performance was fairly slow at times prior to that (I have a 1Mbps connection). It's not been noticeably slow for me since. The improvement has not been huge at quiet times but I've been left with the feeling that the site is more responsive overall.

Mine is 512k.
Why don't you apply the broadband service as the service is quite cheap in Hong Kong? Are you living in HK or China?
All the things are fine under using 10Mbps broadband service.
And I suggest that you can use the LAN switch or Router(HK$300-$500) to share the broadband service to your parent if more than one computer is used.

Siu, I'm actually using broadband ADSL. I'm not living in HK or China. It seems like the response is back to normal now.
