Relax, the 1.2 certifications will not expire. Only those people taking the SCJP2 examination after September 2002 will be presented with a time-limited certification.
Your 1.2 will always be valid. The problem is that a 1.2 certification will not be "actual" and if you upgrade to 1.4 (or higher) you will be getting a time-limited certification (valid two years).

I'm not really sure of that. I have to find my contract but I think it mentioned that the certification would be valid for 2 years only.
Anyone else got the same feeling?

I believe the you are certified for life for that particular version of product, your logo contract is valid for only 3 years though.
However, starting september 2002; the validity of certication is 2 years.
