Howdy, I am a short time reader and first time posted to this board.
I am just now seeking to get my Sun
Java Programmer Certification. I took a class in Java from a local college roughly 1997-8 (I think) Java 2 was first released. I have been dinking around with Java every since. Not really doing any ground up fully application coding but mostly playing around with coding card games for own amusement, and using some of my java skills during Data Warehousing consulting gigs, and also, doing some small Java Stored Procedure coding in Oracle. So, I am not the most knowledgable guy in Java Concepts and Theory, but I can do pratical coding and debugging.
Well, I thought I would just study for a couple of days and go ahead and bang out the exam and get my certification. Boy was a I wrong. I brought the
test exams from the Sun site, well, that was before I found this place. I was doing so badly on those, that I decide to go ahead and buy a book and do some serious on-line research. That is when I found this place. Now with the help on this board and the plethora of mock exam questions, solutions and references, I feel more ready.
But by one biggest suggestion to everyone who is about to take the exam. Goes along the lines of RTFM. Read the Java Language Specification! It was those references here on this board that made me realize I just found the holy grail for those exam questions.

I know it seems pretty obvious to some, but I almost missed it so I thought I would warn others.
Take care.
