Hi Leandro.
2 recommendations. The first, which I own and find very helpful is Khalid Mughal and Rolf Rasmussen's book entitled A Programmer's Guide to Java (tm) Certification. This was written for the 1.2 exam but is still applicable for the 1.4 exam. You can go to the books website for more details.
The next one is the much anticipated book by Kathy Sierra entitled Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide which was written for the 1.4 certification.
I hear this book is fantastic.
Enjoy.

If you read it properly and understand, then nothing is better than that. Still I will recommend RHE.
But make sure that you take lot of mock test before going for SCJP.
Must visit is Maha's page.

The best book for all the people who wants to take the SCJP and pass it with a good score is
a book written by Kathy Sierra.
This book is unique and pratical, also it is very clear and easy-to-read.
Everyone who prepares for the SCJP1.4 should have a copy of this book.

Usually, ordering online is slow, takes at least a couple of weeks, and now it is X-mas season....
I like to buy from bookstore, it is fast. By the time your book is mailed in, I probablly have completed my book.

It could be fast, but you have to pay extra to use rush delivery.

Thanks to you all for your kind words and enthusiasm, we saw the book in our local bookstore today - they say it arrived Friday, so we expect it to be available soon to everyone!
We look forward to your comments!
