Hi guys,
As you can understand I am new here and I need some advice... I have been using Java for 4 years and I decided to take SCJP exam a couple of weeks ago... I checked this site for some book reviews, and decided to buy Kathy's book...(guess why I just finished the book and actually I did good on those tests at the end of each chapter and the ones in the CD... Also, I tried a couple of mock exams and they were fine too... Ok, here comes my question... Do you think that is enough for me to decide to take the test? Will I be shocked by the questions in the exam, or do I have a legitimate chance to actually pass the exam? (What I am trying to say is: are the real question similiar to ones in the book) Oh, and another question related to this one: do you think the exam score is that important as long as you pass the exam?

Hayro -
Thanks for using our book! Most of the feedback we get indicates that the mocks in the book are a pretty good indication of the real exam (both in terms of difficulty and format). If I had to guess, I'd say that if you get 80% on our mocks you'll get about 78% on the real exam. (But some people say our mocks are a little harder  )
When you do decide to take the exam, we'd be very interested to hear how it compared to the various mocks that you took!
As for whether passing is enough, the traditional answer from Sun has been - passing is passing and no one will ever no your score. But times change and it seems like lately some employers might demand that you give them your score... it's a judgement call, I'd get more feedback.
Good luck!
-Bert

Thanks for the help people... that gives me some confidence... I think I will take the test in a week or so after I complete the free mock exams that are available... Than I will let you know how was the exam considered to the mock exams...
