Hi everyone,
This is my first post to the forum.
I did the Master Exam that comes on the CD with the Kathy and Bert book, and could just not figure out the following :
1. For answering 65 questions, it gave me only 1.5 hrs. The actual exam is 61 questions, 2 hrs isn't it?
2. So I could not finish several questions, but got around 88% in the ones I answered. But it gave me a score of 723 out of 1000, said 800 is pass and hence failed me.
Pass is 52% isn't it? And what is the logic behind total score of 1000.
Just could not figure out this exam. Any ideas?
I was really looking forward to doing this exam, because going through the book had been such a nice experience. Now, since it says that there are a total of 65 questions available, doing the exam fresh will not be of any meaning, since the questions would be the same.

Thanks a ton, in advance
Vani

Vani -
Here's a link that might help...

I don't know why Learnkey changed the time limit and the passing rate.
I'd say, give yourself 2 hours and 15 minutes - and then I think the score you get on our mock will be within 5-7 points of the real test. I would predict you'll score a LITTLE better on our test - so if you take our test, give yourself enough time, and get an 88% - I predict you'll get over 80% on the real exam.
We'd really, like to know how you do - we want to make our mocks as realistic as possible!!
The more feedback we get, the more realistic we will make them!
Thanks!
-Bert

Thank you for replying Bert. If I take the closed book exam I can't give myself 2hrs 15mins - because it says time up after 1hr 30mins and does not let me access anything further. So I would have to take the open book exam but it would not be a real test any longer because I have already gone through the questions. So I really can't get to use the included test with the book to see where I stand.
As I said, what I cannot figure out is how this happened - less time and 800 out of 1000 as passing score. Was hoping for some light to be thrown on this. And what does this 1000 mean anyway?
TIA
Vani

I've just completed the bonus exam which you can download if you've bought Kathy & Bert's book. It gives you 65 questions and 1.5 hours to complete them in. I scored 73% and I really had to rush because of the extra questions and the 30 fewer minutes than the real exam.
Last week I took Khalid/Mughal's 1.4 mock exam and scored 69% on that.
On Dan Chisholm's exams I'm getting around 70% each time.
Am I ready for the real exam?
Thanks for any feedback!

You are more than ready!
