Hello,
I'm taking the SCJP (310-035) next week and I'm curious about a couple things. I've purchased Kathy Sierra's excellent book and have taken and passed the mock exams that accompany it. I've also taken a number of other mock exams (Bill Brogden's, Marcus Greene and others) and have passed some and failed others. My problem is this - which best represents the questions on the exam as far as difficulty and format?
Also, regarding the questions with multiple answers - are you given partial credit for these questions if you select at least one cirrect answer? In other words if the answer to Question 2. is A, B, & D and I choose A, B, & C do I get credit for getting A & B or do I get the whole question wrong?
Thanks!
Brian

Brian,
There is no partial credit for multiple choice answers -
having more than one answer ( selecting 2 out of 3 correct
answers ) does not earn credit.
As far as close to the real environment, you may be interested
in taking a look at JCertify Version 7. Version 7 was recently
released, and is now integrated with BeanShell - an interactive
Java language environment.

No you don' get the partial credits. You have to choose all the correct choices, otherwise you are not awarded anything for that question.

Brian -
From everything we've heard, we think that the mocks in the book are really close in difficulty to the real exam. Dan Chisolm's are tougher than the real exam. If you're not getting 70 or better on ours you might want to do some more studying. (Unless you like the drama of cutting it close )
There is no partial credit in the real exam, you either get all the answers right on a question or not. The exam WILL tell you how many correct answers there are for each question, and there will always be at least one correct answer.
Let us know how you do!
