hi, im new into this forum. congrats, lot of info here and there, and everything about Java.
I'd like to know which first exam should i take for being certified java.
I've completed my degree since 1 month, and its pretty hard to get into the market, cause ive no experience.
I think with a certif, it'll be easier for myselft.
Thanks in advance.

hi Clod. Yes, your url is correct. If you're thinking of more than one certification, that would be the first one you'll take. The next depends on the area of expertise you'd like to specialize. For more information, visit this URL:
http://suned.sun.com/CA/certification/java/index.html
If you're into just java (non-web) the next certification would be Sun Certified for Java Developer.
If you'd like to specialize in J2EE you'd take either SCWCD or SCBCD or both.
And the last is the Architect exam.

Hai Clod,
You can go ahead with the book you have. That is also supposed to be a good one. Actually I used K & B book. Here it is
Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide (Exam 310-035 & 310-027) by Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates
There are lot of online resources that are free. You can make use of them too. You can find the links to the mock exams in ranch.
http://www.javaranch.com/maha/_Mock_Exams/_mock_exams.html
and here is a link to the JLS that you'll need very often
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/jls/second_edition/html/jTOC.doc.html
Hope this helps.

hi clod. SCWCD is for JSP / Servlets while SCBCD is for EJB. I dont have any certifications yet but currently preparing for SCJP 1.4. I would highly recommend K&B book and to actively participate in this forum by asking those who are already certified. You will find lots of links to resources and mock exams that will help you get certified. good luck.

Hi, Clod -
Participating in the forums provides another benefit: By answering questions posted by others, you sharpen your knowledge of Java. A teacher contantly learns through the teaching.
Good luck on your exams and your job hunt!
