Hi all,
I am new to java ranch, and have recently decided to go ahead for java certification. I had a few questions , would be glad if someone took time to answer them.....
1. > How much is a good time to prepare before giving the xams...I have just started studying
2. > What are the good books that target specifically these certifications
3. > Can I get practice tests from somewhere?
Thank you in advance.

Are you sure it is your real name ? Otherwise you are voilating the naming policy of the site.
As for youe questions.
1. 1 to 3 months depending on how much time you put every day and how comfortable you are with the language.
2. SCJP by Khalid Mughal. I like this one, although it might cover more than what is required for the exam.
3. jchq.net. You will find other sites also if you explore.

Hi Antonio!!!
Kathy Sierra book is really good.It is easier to follow compared to Khalid. But there are more in depth coverage in Khalid. But I'm sure doing Kathy Sierra and posting your doubts in javaranch and practicing a lot of mock exams should help you for the exam enough. Also about the good mock exams ,Dan's and Marcus Green's exams are real good. You can find a variety of other exams in the site levteck.com
All the very best. You can do it!
Cheers,
Sagarika.
