During my preparation I never purchased any commercial exams. For me, the free ones are more than enough. Some commercial exams are available here at the ranch with their reviews.
Good Luck

Hi,
I just started preparing for the SCJP 1.4 exam. My exam is due on the 25/04. I just purchased over the weekend the preparation package from javacertificate.com for only $40.
The questions are really great and are focused on the objectives. I like to study online and they have detailed feedback that helps me with the more difficult questions and the interface is excellent.
Hope this helps.
When is your exam due?

Hi,
I purchased the Whizlabs exams. They're a good study aid
with questions that, at this stage, (positively) surprise
me, since they are not at all superficial but go deep into
the subject.
Something I have to add though is that their mentoring team
is not very keen to answer queries it takes them ages before
they answer... if they answer.
But besides that it's very useful tool.
Best regards,
Gian Franco

Before I purchased from javacertificate.com I checked their feedback system. Usually I had response from them within 8 hours time. One time they answered my query within 15 minutes. Great support.
Hopefully I pass the exam.

I did not like Whizlabs. You couldn't copy the code to an IDE and compile. I found that frustrating as I paid for the test. I won't use them again.
