Range of char type 0 -216 ???

In one place I read like Range of char type 0 - 216 but not 0 - 215.
what is this? char length 2 bytes values range from \u0000 - \uffff. is itn't?

please give answer. I saw in JLS as 0-2^16. if is fine.
is 0 - 216 is wrong or right.

It's interesting to see how "2^16" could be mistaken as "216"

The answer is 0 - (2^16-1) i.e 0-65535
