Hi all,

Iam new to Javaranch but a long time silent visitor. I am going to take the exam soon.Pls clarify the following reg the exam.

1. I came to know that i can review my answers before submitting for results.Incase if i mark a question 21...then how can i go from the 61st question to 21st question. What are buttons i may see in the 61 st question page.?

2. I have registered with prometric for exam with my full name. Actually
in my passport, my name is prefixed with my father name. I bought the voucher as in the name of passport. But unfortunately i forgot that when i registered with Prometric & registerd without my father name. Which name the sun will take for the certificate. Is there any problem in this?.

Actually i tried to change the name in prometric as like in the passport.
But it requires to send the request by fax, couldnt change in online.Very troublesome!.

Thanks & Regards

Mohamed, when you finish the exam you will see a screen listing all the questions and those you marked will have a special icon next to it (or something like that!). From that screen you can jump to any of the questions by clicking on it. Once inside the question you'll see previuos and next buttons (the wording might be different but you get the point) to go to other questions. You can also go back to the screen showing all the questions. You are free to move around the questions for as long as you have time to spare.

As for your second problem, I don't know but maybe you're getting a bit paranoid. I think as long as you can prove you are you it should be fine and you should be able to take the test.

Good luck!

Hi Mohammed,
I suggest you to try few mock exam simulators that are available on the net and also that comes free on a CD with books such as Kathy&Bert's book for SCJP.

Also, do not forget to try Ashok Gupta's Mock Exam Applet, which I feel, is quite near to the look and feel of what it is in the real exam. (For example, it has an "Exhibit" button to open source code in a new window, if source code is longer than 3 or 4 lines apart from the standard buttons Next/Previous/Mark/Review Item, etc.)

However, you can also take a sample exam (like a Tutorial) before taking the main exam in your prometric center, so as to get the feel of the real one. But this is possible only few minutes before your real exam.

Regarding your second problem, I suggest you to either login to the prometric site with your id and try to update your profile or call up their help-desk service in your country. I am sure, you can sort this out.

Good Luck!
cheers,
~NRao
