Rishi,
Head First Java is a very good Java fundamentals textbook by K&B, but the title of the K&B Java programmer certification study guide is "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2".
If you are new to Java, then the book that you have is a better place to get started than the K&B study guide. A Java fundamentals textbook such as Head First Java will provide you with a wide range of information that every Java programmer should know. A certification study guide only focuses on the narrow range of information that is applicable to the certification exam. The wider range of information provided by Head First Java is something that you will need.
As you complete each chapter in Head First Java, then take a look at my web site to find a single topic mock exam that covers the information from that chapter. Try this exam set. As I mentioned earlier, Head First Java and just about any Java fundamentals textbook will cover a wider range of information than the certification exam, so you won't find any mock exams that cover topics such as IO, AWT or Swing.
After you have worked through your Java fundamentals textbook and the corresponing chapters of my mock exam web site or book, then you can test your level of preparedness for the real exam by attempting one of Marcus Green's exams at jchq.net. Your score on Marcus Green's exam is likely to be similar to your score on the real exam. In contrast, my exams are more difficult than the real exam, so your score on the real exam is likely to be higher than your score on my exam.
