Yes, that was once true, but I believe that the rules have changed. I think that if you get your certification right now, then it does not expire. If I remember correctly, Sun has changed their policy. Now they want to motivate people to come back to get a new certification for the most current version of
Java. As long as Sun continues to update Java and the exam, then people will get recertified every two or three years; so there is no reason to put an expiration date on the certification.
Does anyone have any more information on this?
