Hi ALL!
I need to create an applet for internal company use which will need to interact with another native application (on the same computer as applet code) through sockets... If I have HTTP server, then no problems.. But is it possible to do it without HTTP service ? (For example, user wants to see an HTML page with aplet through LAN and shared recources... ???)
Right now I'm trying everything on the same computer and applet does not want to open a connection to host = "" ...
Please advice..
Thank you ,
Pavel.

The Java sandbox rules forbid this. You'll either need to secure and sign BOTH applications or bounce the message through a common server from which both applets were loaded.
This is to make sure someone else doesn't have the ability to create a rogue applet that jams bogus messages into your pipeline.
